The Weird Day
By Dale Green

Oh, my gosh!  The strangest thing happened to me today.  Actually, a whole hell of a lot strange things has happened to me today.  First things first, when I woke up, I woke up on a cloud.  A CLOUD!  It was SO soft.  It was so soft that it was about thirty minutes before I actually decided to get up.  I know what you’re thinking:  “Why would you want to get off a cloud?  Wouldn’t you fall out of the sky?”  I’ll get to that in a moment.  When I did decide to get up, I noticed that I was not a lone on that cloud.  There was a wolf on the cloud; A black wolf.  I think it was a wolf PUP, because it wasn’t very big.  Anyhow, back to the weird stuff that happened to me today.  I got off the cloud and noticed something strange.  The cloud was only two and a half feet off the ground, which just happened to be made out of metal.  Well, actually, it was not the ground, but actually a floor; a METAL floor.  I looked around and noticed that I was surrounded by metal.  Everywhere I looked, I saw grey metal; except for right between my feet --- the black wolf pup was there.  I surveyed my surroundings and noticed that the… area had four corners; Four very even, straight corners.  There were also six sides: two on the top, four on the sides, two sides longer than the other two.  That’s when it hit me.  I knew exactly where I was:  I was in… A METAL BOX!  A recTANGular metal box.  I walked back and forth, looking the box over, constantly being followed by the wolf pup.  It took me a while, but I finally realized that something was very, very wrong.  How on earth did a cloud get into a metal box?  And how was that cloud, a collective of evaporated water molecules, able to support the weight of a human being and a small, black wolf?  In my laws-of-physics-induced confusion, I bumped into a part of the box that must have been a door or something like that.  I guess it was a door, because it swung on a set of hinges.  Well, whether it was a door or not, I fell out of the box onto a HUGE rock.  I lifted my head, and the first thing I saw was… the black wolf pup.  It just stared at me, and I stared back.  To be honest, I have no idea how long the pup and I stared at each other.  Well, we eventually stopped staring at each other and I stood up.  I had never seen a stranger terrain.  It looked like a desert, but there were trees, and grass, and bugs and stuff.  And then I was handed a rude awakening.  I was SURROUNDED by rectangular metal boxes.  They were everywhere; big ones, little ones, long ones, and short ones.  Just as I began to wonder if any of the other metal boxes had clouds in them, I noticed… a cloud; another cloud.  After staring at it with the black wolf pup --- that thing liked to stare --- I decided to get onto it to see if it was as soft as the one in the box.  It wasn’t nearly as soft as the one in the box, but for some reason, I sunk into it; and then the black wolf pup jumped onto --- into it, the thing took off.  It just started zooming all over the place, away from all the metal boxes.  It took me to a place with even more flying clouds, of various sizes; kind of like the metal boxes.  We --- me and the pup --- flew here and there on the cloud.  We went everywhere: past vast rivers, through mountains, over hills and valley.  We literally went everywhere.  After we went everywhere we could possibly go, the cloud took us back to the place with the metal boxes and spit us out right onto the large rock I had fallen onto when I fell out of the box.  Not knowing what to do, I picked up the black wolf pup and carried it through the door-thing and into the metal box.  After closing the door-thing, I put the small wolf onto the really soft cloud and then I got onto it.  I fell asleep almost immediately after laying down on the cloud... and entered into a wondrous dreamland.

This is a very screwed up, surreal perspective of how my day tends to progress. Just about everything mentioned is symbolic of something from my life; more of a direct "symbolic" than a deep "symbolic".
